How to make an Easter Headdress

What you need

Step 1 - Make the headband

1.Cut a sheet of A4 paper in half (horizontally) and glue together with a 2cm overlap to make a long strip like the image below. This is the headband.

Put the strip around your head to see if it fits. You may need to add another strip if it doesn’t fit. Keep aside

2. Take another sheet of A4 paper, turn the paper landscape and fold it in half. Mark 6cm on the bottom edge and using a ruler draw a line to the top corner so it looks like half triangle.

3. Keeping the paper folded cut along the line you drew and open the paper it should look like the shape in the picture below

Step 2-Decorating your headpiece

4. On two sheets of A4 paper landscape, draw six different types of leaf branches altogether (three branches on each sheet). You can copy the branches below or draw different designs.

5.Colour and cut the branches out leaving a little white edge. Keep aside.

6. Draw two types of flowers in three different sizes. Use the image below to help you with the sizes. I drew 21 flowers.

7. Colour the flowers on both sides and cut them out. Keep aside.

8. Fold a sheet of A4 yellow paper in half vertically. If you do not have yellow paper then you can use a sheet of White paper. Draw half a cross using the measurements given in the image below.

9. Keeping the paper folded cut the cross out and keep it aside.

Step 3 -Assembling your headpiece

10. Glue the shape you cut out in step 3 to your headband. Make sure the straight narrow side is glued on the bottom edge of the headband.

It will look line the image in the picture below when you put it on.

11. Glue three leaf branches on the left side. Use the images below to guide you.

12. Then glue the other three remaining leaves on the right side.

13. Glue the yellow cross in the centre, 5cm from the bottom.

14. Fold each petal of your flowers upwards from near the center of it as in the image below.

15. Glue some flowers on the bottom left side of the headdress as in the picture below. You can arrange them however you like.

16. Now decorate the right side with the rest of your flowers.

WELL DONE!
